SWBAT define vocabulary words by making Four Corners vocabulay posters.

SWBAT describe character traits by summarizing and illustrating.

Vocabulary: man, quit thy pains, feign, coil, gossamer, conceit

Essential Questions: What do our new words mean? How does Shakespeare use comedy to appeal to the people?

  • Jumpstart: Romeo confides in Friar Lawrence. Do you think Friar Lawrence can be trusted? Why or why not? Who do you think Juliet will trust to serve as her messenger?

  • Four Corners Vocabulary: Create a poster showing the meaning of one of our new vocabulary words (man, quit thy pains, feign, coil, gossamer, conceit). Use the book to find the definitions and the sentence/lines.

  • Read Romeo and Juliet, Act 2 Scene 4.

    • 2nd:  Work on RandJ Act 2 Study Guide

    • 4th: Storyboard: What does the letter to Romeo from Tybalt say? How does Mercution think Romeo will respond?

    • 4th: Storyboard: What do we learn about Mercutio’s character traits?
