- Read Speak, pgs. 30-46.
Homework: Finish reading pages 30-46.

- Jumpstart:
- 2nd hour: Sketch the word you received as you came in. What role do you think that word will play in Speak?
- 4th hour: Do you think that groups like jocks, emo kids, geeks, Queen Bees, etc. exist at Sinagua? Where do you fit? Where do others think you fit?
- 1st Semester Lit Terms Packet: List examples of protagonist, antagonist, setting, and point of view.
- Speak Vocab in Context, pgs. 1-33: Read each sentence from Speak. In the first column, guess what you think the word means. In the second column, explain your guess. Finall, look the word up in the dictionary and write down the definition in the third column.
- Read Speak
- 2nd hour: Begin on page 30
- 4th hour: Begin on page 25
Homework: Read up to page 40 in Speak.
