Essential Questions: Where does the author use figurative language and literary terms?

  • Jumpstart: What is the idea behind necessary roughness? Do you agree with the concept? 

  • NR Ch 21-30 Reading Guide due today

    • NR Lit Terms CH 21-30: Read each CD as it appears. On your dry erase board, identify which literary term it represents. Copy the CDs on your reading guide as needed.

    • “Around the Room”: You will be assigned one of the comprehension questions. Write the complete and comprehensive answer on a dry erase board. Correct and copy answers as needed.

Essential Questions

  • Jumpstart: Chan is offended by Rom’s choice of movies and the way he eggs on the white protagonist in the movie. Rom defends himself by saying, “Geez, I’m just joking. What are you getting so uptight for? It isn’t like I’m calling you a name. I’m doing it to the guys on-screen” (136). Do you agree with Rom or Chan? Why?

  • NR Ch 21-30 Reading Guide due Friday

    • 2nd hour: Read Chapters 28-30. 

    • 4th hour: Read Chapters 25-28.

    • 4th hour homework! Read Chapters 29-30.
